Scientific Name : Hemigrammus bleheri
Common Name : Fire-head tetra/Red head fish
Growing about 6cm. Body is transparent silver with a red spot on the head. Caudal fin is bifurcated with white and black spots. (Riel and Baensch, 1991). Fire-head tetra lives in freshwater tropical benthopelagic areas and distributed in south America (Meta River basins and Negro) (Lima et al., 2003).
Ideal water quality parameters that the fish inhabit are pH: 5.0 - 6.0, DO: 5 – 12, and the temperature, 23°C – 26°C (Riel and Baensch, 1991). According to the IUCN data list this species is listed as a not evaluated species and also a harmless species to human beings.
