1.75inches in size when they fully grown (fishbase, 2021) Relatively flat but have a tall frame and a trapezoidal shape On the top of the fish, it can be noticed a larger square shaped dorsal fin that is covered in dark black Slight redness on the base of the fin. (Aquarium source, 2021) They have shiny scaled that is shimmer in the light (jewel like luster) Noticeable black comma shaped spot on their sides (it is located just behind their gills and it can be fluctuated during vibrancy) Hyphessobrycon eques lives in freshwater benthopelagic areas and lives in South America, Amazon, Guapore and Paraguay River basins. Colorful and incredibly active (fish Lore, 2019) Endemic to the Amazon river basin in Argentina, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil Jewel tetra is oviparous and an aggressive species (Breder and Rosen, 1966). They are normally peaceful, but when there are rush during feeding, they bite each other. In aquarium groups of individuals can be kept in 60 cm of minimum tank size. Jewel tetra feeds on plants, crustaceans, insects and worms (Mills et al., 1997).
